All,
Just wanted to let you know that I have another job interview coming up on Friday August 5th. It's for a different position this time (I'll post the job description as soon as I can get it from them), but it basically entails being part of a maintenance and enhancement effort for the Finance arm of their Business Solutions Group. I don't know if they're asking for a Project Manager or a Senior Business Analyst-- that's why I need the full job description.
The scary part is that it lasts ALL DAY this time. I'll be talking with people for 30 minutes at a time from 8:30a through 5pm. All totaled, I think I counted 10 people! I guess they're serious, huh?
In the meantime, Katrina is looking at creative ways to make money while retaining her "stay at home" status. One thing she's looking seriously at is to be a "Mystery Shopper". I'll leave you to look that one up online. :-)
For all the moms out there who look for this type of thing, Katrina said she found a website that has all sorts of advice and potential ideas. Send a mail to cheynekat@truevine.net if you're interested.
The boys are taking a week off before returning to Summer Day Camp. This has been a major blessing, as there is a developmental focus with this particular one. The head instructor has several years of experience in special ed, particularly with developmental delays. Katrina's folks have been very gracious toward us in providing for the tuition, and it gives Kaeleb a chance to socialize with other kids. (BTW, this coming year, we plan to enroll Kaeleb in a preschool program that incorporates gymnastics. Perfect for his active nature ;-) ).
Also, I'm beginning to pursue music more seriously now-- not as a primary income source, but primarily in an act of obedience. I've come to the conclusion that, based on people's comments over the years, I really should be a better steward of my talents. In that regard, I had a really good phone conversation last night with someone who won a Gospel Music Association (GMA, as in the Dove Award people) songwriting competition for Praise & Worship last year (http://www.gwensmith.net/). We plan to get together with her family toward the end of August, since they live ONLY 10 MILES from our house!
Also, I'm speaking with another guy in Raleigh who has led worship at some Toronto Airport Fellowship (http://www.tacf.org/) sponsored events recently. You'll have to check him out (http://www.ericterlizzi.com/). Great instrumental CDs, and his latest vocal project is great, too!
Well, gotta go. Soon as I have the job description for Lowe's, I'll post it here for the detail-oriented intercessors (is there any other kind?)
God bless and stay tuned,
Cheyne

The Charlotte Cheyenes
Cheyene and all:Thank you so much for the Blog. It has been very helpful in praying for you guys. The scripture that has been ringing in my heart lately has been If you love me, feed my sheep. My prayer for you is that you would be in a position to do the work of feeding God's sheep. I know this is your heart and this is what you are doing with the move to Charlotte, so I want you to know I am not just praying for a job for you or just a position leading worship (though this seems where God is leading), but that the Stillwells would be in a position to feed God's sheep.
Let me encourage you, you have what it takes to do this. You have availed yourself to God and to His ways, and now is the time when He is raising you up. Ministry flows from both you and Katrina, it is not something you have to work up, so my prayer for you guys is towards God's provision that you may be able to feed God's sheep as you were called to do.
Again, thank you for the blog. It has been a blessing to me as well as others I am sure. It was good to see you last Sunday. Give Katrina and the boys our love.
